Hemorrhage in the eye ground (Part II)
- I was examined by the eye doctor again on December 22, 2005.
- I was told that there was no problem and was relived anyway.
However, I still have eye floater in the right eye as aftereffect. The doctor said it would
take time to disappear the symptom. I was told to see the doctor again in January 2006.
- She said it was OK to run little by little although it was no good to run 42 km right now.
- However, just in case, I intend to walk instead of running for a while.
- Anyway, the running distance in December will be only 20 km.
That's the way it goes. I have to take care of myself.

Hemorrhage in the eye ground
- In the morning on December 8, 2005, I felt something wrong with my right eye.
I hastened to see the eye doctor since I was worrying about it.
After careful examination, the doctor said that the hemorrhage in the eye ground
occurred in the right eye and the treatment had to be done immediately.
I was so surprised to hear that since I did not think the situation was so
serious. The doctor also told me that I might have lost my eyesight if
I did not come here within the daytime! Anyway, laser surgery was done
immediately and I could avoid the worst situation and was relived.
The exact cause was not known.
- I was told to stay home and lie quietly to the weekend. Thus I was forced to
give up the Fukuroi marathon race on December 11, 2005.
- Furthermore, I was also told to refrain from running and drinking for a while!!
5)Saturday, November 26, 2005 Weather: Fine
Jogging in the early morning
- November is almost over. It becomes cold in the morning and at night.
- I left home at 6:00 AM. It was still dark and the only western sky was slightly bright.
- I will join Tsukuba Full Marathon Race tomorrow and thus I intended to run only 10 km.
- The course was from the upper part of Kurome River to the junction of Ochiai River and
I went up Ochiai River.
- Owing to coldness, the vapor was coming out from the surface of Kurome River like steam in the
early morning.
- After 6:30 PM, the sun with dim light was rising from the eastern fine sky.
I could see the magnificent sun rising after a long interval.
- I came across a lot of walkers than I expected in the early morning on the sidewalk alongside the river.
- The colored leaves are almost at their best in the lower world.
They would be more beautiful in the daytime.
- It was refreshing and a little bit cold morning for 10 km-jogging.

Once-a-year Exhibition of One thousand Jizos at Shofukuji Temple in Higashi-murayama City
- November 3 is a national holiday, a Culture Day.
- One-thousand-Jizo temple of Shofukuji Temple in Higashi-murayama City
was build by Tokimune Hoju, a Shogun of Kamakura Era, in 1278.
The building is only one national treasure in Tokyo.
- In the Jizo temple, the Main Jizo and one thousand small Jizos are enshrined.
And only on September 24 and November 3, the temple is open to the public every year.
- However, this year, the roof of the temple had been repaired by this autumn and thus
only the exhibition is made on November 3. (I went to the temple on September 24 this year to see the exhibition, but I could noly see the notice that the exhibition
would be made only November 3 this year.) By the way, the chief priest says it cost 70 million yen to repair
the roof. (The nation shares 55% of the total cost since the temple is national treasure. The shared expense is our tax!)
- Under the situation, I had a plan to visit the temple again on November 3.
- It was cloudy and chilly in the morning of November 3. I ran on the Tamako-Lake Cycling road and alongside Fuchu Street to reach the temple.
- I arrived in the temple around 9:50 AM. A lot of worshippers were there and many street stalls were open in front of the temple.
- The exhibition started from 10:00 AM. It's a good timing for me.
- Many worshippers rushed into small main hole of the temple and the hole was filled with people.
I could manage to enter the hole since I was in front of the line.
I could see glittering main Jizo in the center and one-thousand small Jizos on both sides of the
main Jizo.
- The chief priest explained about the history of the temple and the repair of the roof
for almost 30 minutes. I found that the designation of national treasure will be void if more than 50% of
building is lost by disaster such as fire, typhoon and so on.
- I could also see the Gagaku (traditional court music of Japan) and dance in the precinct.
- I found a Jizake (locally brewed Japanese sake) of Higashi-murayama among the street stalls.
I bought one Jizake (720ml;Yen 1,000) and ran back with bottle in the sack.
- Today's running distance was 26 km. I had a good time.

Shakujii Park
- I had a plan to go on pilgrimage on October 29.
- However, the weatherman said it would be rainy all day on Saturday and thus I was forced to give up the pilgrimage.
- But contrary to the weather forecast, it did not rain in the morning.
The rain did not start in the early afternoon. The recent weather forecast is not reliable.
I should have made a pilgrimage.
- Anyway, instead, I went running in the early morning.
- The destination was the Shakujii Park after a long interval. The route was the reverse of usual one.
- I ran alongside Mejiro Street via Niiza and arrived in the Shakujii River.
I continued to run alongside the Shakujii River, however, soon I found I was running to the opposite direction to
the Shakujii Park. I hurried back to the park. I almost ran to the Toshimaen Amusement Park.
- I ran around the Shakujii Park. Somehow, I did not meet so many people in the park as I expected.
- I found pintails in the Sanpo Lake. The season of migrant has come!
- I ran 35 km today. A little bit tired.
- The total monthly running distance amounts to 317 km. The distance exceeds 300 km after a long interval.

2)Saturday, October 22, 2005 Weather : Cloudy with showers
Running 30 km
- I intended to go running at 6:00 AM, however, it suddenly started to rain before 6:00 AM
although the weather forecast said it would be cloudy then sunny.
- I hesitated to go out for a while, but I decided to go out in the light rain.
- I still had weariness from the Ohmachi marathon race of last weekend, I tried to
run 30 km.
- I ran alongside Kurome River toward Arakawa River. I could see many flowers of Tall Goldenrod were in full bloom
at the riverside.
- When I ran previously, the bank was filled with grass, however, this time, the grass was completely mowed.
- I was caught in showers while running, but I could manage to complete
30 km running.
- During this month, each my running mates and me set the target of total running distance in October.
We call it as "October Run". My target is "250 km".
- So far, I ran totally 262 km and thus I already accomplished the target!!
- Under the circumstances, I may reach more than 300 km by the end of this month.

40 Km Running
- According to weekly weather forecast, it would be rainy during three consecutive holidays (from October 8 to 10).
I had been concerned about the weather since I intended to run 40 km for the coming full marathon race.
- The rain started at night on Friday and continued to the early morning on Saturday.
- However, fortunately, the rain stopped and I could start to run from 6:00 AM on Saturday.
- The sky was dull and it was cool in the early morning. However, the humidity was so high and I soon started to sweat.
- I ran alongside Koganei Highroad southward to Nogawa River.
Then I reached Jindaiji area. There were many greens in the Musashino Park and Nogawa Park and I could refresh.
The running distance to Jindaiji was approx. 20 km.
- I turned to the right and continued to run to the bank of Tama River.
- The Tama River was in the mist. I then headed for Koremasa Bridge and ran on the bank.
- Since the weather was not so good, I could see only several people while I was running on the bank.
- After reaching the Koremasa Bridge, I passed near Fuchu Horse Racecourse and ran alongside
Shin-koganei Highroad to return home. It had been cloudy while running.

- I ran approx. 42 km. I could train for Ohmachi marathon race to be held next weekend.
