NEW YEAR'S DAY RUNNING
- When I passed Sento (Public bath) at the end of the year, I found a notice informing
the opening hours during New Year's days. The Sento will open from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM during
January 1 to January 3! I decided to run on New Year's Day and go to Sento after running.
- I started to run before 10:00 AM on New Year's Day. It was sunny when started. However,
it was getting cloudy and cold.
- I ran alongside Ochiai and Kurome Rivers.
- I saw a lot of people paying a visit to a shrine, but only a few runners.
- I wanted to run at least 20 km, but I could run only 12 km and went to Sento at 11:00 AM.
- The Sento was not crowded and thus I could enjoy leisurely taking a bath.
- When I went out of Sento, I was surprised that it was snowing. It's a freezing New Year's Day!
2)Wednesday, January 2, 2013 Weather: Fine
Hakkokusan Green District
- Following the New Year's Day, it was fine on January 2, 2013.
The expected maximum temperature might be 14 degrees Centigrade. It was warm!
- I started to jog around 8:00 AM. The destination was Hakkokusan Green District, located in the northern part of
Higashi-murayama City. It was still cold in the morning.
- I arrived in Kitayama Park via Higashi-murayama Station of Seibu Line.
No one and no flowers were there and very quiet.
- I ran through Hakkokusan Green District with trees without leaves.
- On the way, I went down toward Tokorozawa City and visited Hachiman Shrine and Suitengu Shrine.
Only a few worshippers were there and very quiet. For your information, there was a forest
named TOTORO No.2 in the vicinity.

New Year's Running
- It was almost fine in the morning of New Year's Day and it was not so cold as previous month.
- I started to jog before 10:00 AM. I had a plan to shoot Mt. Fuji with digital camera from the roof of Ito Yokado Supermarket.
- A lot of worshippers were making a line at nearby Hikawa Shrine.
- Ito Yokado Supermarket was open even on New Year's Day.
Many customers who sought New Year's special coupon were making a long line there.
- Casting skeptical gazes at them, I rushed to the roof of 7th floor.
Only a few cars were parked there.
- As expected, I could enjoy seeing Mt. Fuji with snow clearly in the west without interruption.
- I took a lot of shootings and was satisfied with Mt. Fuji of New Year's Day.
- I had a 360-degree view from the roof. I could see the mountains of Nikko with snow in the north far away.
I could even see Mt. Tsukuba in the northeast.
- I ran alongside Ochiai and Kurome Rivers.
