Records & Impression

• This year, a half-marathon race was planned and thus I wanted to join this race. However, I joined full marathon race one week ago and I did not have a confidence that I could complete the half-marathon race. Thus I entered the 5-km race. (No 10-km race this year!)
• Registration would finish at 8:00 AM and thus I had to leave home at 7:00 AM. (Registration was also possible on Saturday.) Anyway, I arrived in Seibu Dome Ball Park at 7:40 AM.
• After finishing registration, I changed the wear at the outfield of the stadium. It was so cold this morning.
• A lot of families gathered since there was also a familiy matathon race.
• An opening ceremony started at 9:00 AM. The last menu of the ceremony was aerobic exercises. Three young lady instructors instructed us. I enjoyed it very much.
• Firstly, the half-marthon race started at 8:45 AM. Then the 5-km race followed at 9:00 AM.
• This was my first experience to join 5-km race.
• Since the distance was short, runners' running pace at the starting point was very fast!
• In less than 10 minutes, the top group passed the oppsite side to the goal. Their goal time might be around 15 minutes.
• My target of goal time was less than 20 minutes. However, I have not trained to run fast. Thus I am not good at running fast at the short-distance race.
• The time at the turning point was 11 minutes 45 seconds. It was hard for me to run faster than usual.
• A young gal passed me at the end of the race. I tried to catch up with her with middle-aged power and finally passed her before the goal!
• The goal time was 23 minutes 54 seconds. I felt that a 5-km race was too short for me!
• This time, I joined the race by myself and thus I left the dome for home as soon as the race finshed without drinking! When I arrived in my home, it was still 10:30 AM! This race is very convenient for me.
