PjBamboo Park (Higashikurume)

Forest park of more than 2,000 bamboos. The pure water springs out in the park. The park is selected as one of the "Best 100 new Tokyo Scenery".
QjTamonji Temple (Higasikurume)

It is famous for the temple gate built in 1852. The gate is all made from zelkova trees. It is the 5th temple for pilgrim of Musashino-district 33 Kwannon (Goddess of mercy) temples.
RjHikawa Shrine (Higashikurume)

The shrine is deified as the guardian of the ancient springs at the upper reaches of the Ochiai River. It is said that the shirine was rebuilt more than 300 years ago.
SjOchiai River Open Ground

Artificially made open/play ground along the Ochiai River. Families gather on holiday.
TjHigashikurume Municipal Office/Citizen's Plaza

From the west exit of the Higashikurume Station, go straight the main street on foot for approx. 5 min., then you will reach modern-looking Higashikurume municipal office. The lobby of the first floor is open to everybody and thus you can rest/relax there. Flea market is often held at the square in font of the office.
UjOyamadai Relic Park (Higashikurume)

The park remains ancient relic. Ancient people lived there more than 20,000 years ago. The park is on the hill, thus you can see the row of buildings/houses of Higashikurume city.
VjMinamisawa Springs

4 springs join there. More than 10,000 tons of water springs out daily. The area is covered by green trees and is located nearby Hikawa Shrine.
WjNobidome Irrigation Ditch

Irrigation ditch for the irrigation of Nobidome Field. The ditch flows the boarder of Higashikurume and Kiyose and reaches Heirinji Temple. A lot of carps swim in the ditch.
XjOyama Village Shrine

A village shrine of Oyama. The lord, Tokuro Yabe, built the shrine. The prince of "Ohkuninushi-no-mikoto" is deified.
POjMinami-machi Forest Preservation Area

There are several forest preservation areas in Higashi-kurume. "The road of thicket" is established which connects these preservation areas. If you trace the road, you can imagine old "Musashino" scenery. Guide plates are displayed at several points, but it might be difficult to find out.
PPjTama 6-city Science Museum

The science museum is built very close to "Tanashi Tower" on the Shinoume kaido road. The museum was built by 6 cities of Tama district. Planetarium is there.
PQjKodaira Rural Village (Kodaira city)

The village is on the Tamako-lake cycling road. Buildings of 17th -19th century were moved and re-built. Entry is free of charge. Various seasonal events are held there. The visitors exceeded 300,000 in September 1999.
PRjHeirinji Temple (Niiza city)

The old temple of Rinzai sect. A family temple for Nobutsuna Matsudaira, the lord of the Kawagoe clan. It is also famous for the forest of more than 100,000 suare meters. You can enjoy birdwatching there and see almost 60 kinds of birds.
PSjTamako Lake (Higashiyamato city)

Artificially-made lake dammed up the valley at the Sayama Hill. There is a straight cycling road starting from Nishi-Tokyo city, Tanashi, which is good for jogging.
PTjSayama Nature Park

The park located just below the bank of Tamako-lake. Cherry blossoms are marvelous in spring. You can also enjoy birdwatching.
PUjSeibu Dome Ball Park

The roof completed in March 1999. You can enjoy watching baseball game even on rainy day since then. However, the dome is not airtighted and airconditioned. Thus you may feel cold in early spring or late in autumn.
PVjKoganei Park (Nishi-Tokyo city)

The largest park in Tokyo. It has an area of 72 hectares. There are lawn squares, ball park, play ground, athletic square, etc. A lot of people come in all seasons. The park are specially crowded in cherry-blossom season. (There are 1,600 cherry trees.)
PWjEdo Period Building Museum Park (Nishi-Tokyo city)

The museum is in the Koganei park. A lot of Edo-period buildings are moved and rebuilt there. Entrance fee required.
